I like listening to music while I clean my house. My TV has the best speakers, so I like to listen to music using the TV. The best way for me to do this is to cast SoundCloud to the Roku and listen to music that way.
In this post, you will learn how to case SoundCloud audio from your Android, iPhone, or iPad app to the Roku device.
Cast SoundCloud from Android
- Ensure the Roku and your Android device are both connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Press the “Home” button the Roku remote to get to the home screen.
- Go to “Settings” > “System” > “Screen mirroring” > “Enable screen mirroring“. On some devices, you should choose “Prompt” or “Always allow“.
- On the Android device, swipe from the top of the screen down to bring up the quick menu.
- Tap “Cast” or “Smartview” (depends on model). A list will appear with devices you can cast to. Select the Roku in the list.
- Open the SoundCloud app on your Android and start listening to music. All audio will be routed to the Roku.
Cast SoundCloud from iPhone or iPad
- Ensure the Roku and your iPhone or iPad device are both connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
- Press the “Home” button the Roku remote to get to the home screen.
- Go to “Settings” > “Apple AirPlay and HomeKit“.
- Set “AirPlay” to “On“.
- Now on your iPhone or iPad, swipe down from the top of the screen to bring up the quick menu, then select “Screen Mirroring“.
- Select the Roku you want cast to. Enter the code displayed on the Roku TV screen if prompted.
- Open the SoundCloud app on your iPhone or iPad and start listening to music. All audio will be routed to the Roku.
